Hi, I am Poppy! It looks like you are trying to plan a weekend. Want a hand?
Eat well. Explore more. Play often.
Food, travel, recipes, and experiences worth leaving the house for.
We are Lauryn and Richard Wang. We help you spend less time scrolling and more time making memories: better meals, better weekends, and every detail you need to enjoy them The Wangs Way.

Paranoia Quest.jpg Β· We never pass up a great escape room. From immersive sets to clever puzzles, weβre always chasing experiences that make you laugh, think, and leave with a story to tell.
Restaurants worth the reservation. We test them so your date night does not have to be the experiment.
Recipes people will ask you to make again. Richard grew up in his family's Chinese restaurants, so the shortcuts are real.
Trips and adventures without the guesswork. Routes planned, gear packed, mistakes already made on your behalf.
Escape rooms, immersive experiences, and other excellent reasons to leave the house.
Ideas that turn getting together into a memory. Lauryn plans experiences for a living. Your dinner party is in good hands.
We make the mistakes first. You get the better experience.
A good experience can turn into a disaster when you do not know what to expect. So we test the restaurants, plan the routes, pack the gear, compare the options, and figure out what everyone gets wrong. Then we hand you the better version.
Every Wangs Way guide covers the same things: what to expect, what to order, what to skip, what to bring, what it costs, and whether we would do it again.
From Gilbert restaurants and Phoenix date nights to Salt River paddleboarding and desert staycations, we share the places that make Arizona worth exploring. Your next favorite memory may be closer than you think.
Somewhere along the way, we realized we were spending more time saving ideas than actually living them. Restaurants for someday. Trips for eventually. Recipes for later.
So we stopped watching other people have all the fun and started creating more memories of our own. Now we are inviting you along.
Every restaurant, recipe, river, escape room, and destination we share has one purpose: to help you spend less time scrolling and more time making memories.
Because the best stories rarely happen on your phone.
Professional marketer, creative director, event producer, and natural hostess. Lauryn's superpower is turning an idea into a complete experience: the menu, the theme, the timeline, and the detail you did not know the night needed.
Brings to the table: hosting, experience design, travel planning, visual storytelling, and an unshakeable belief that we can fit one more thing in.
Richard grew up working in his family's Chinese restaurants and knows his way around a kitchen better than most people know their own living room. He cooks, he orders, he tells you the truth about whether it was worth it.
Brings to the table: restaurant experience, cooking expertise, honest food opinions, family food stories, practicality, and humor.
This computer is performing optimally. It is you we are worried about. When was your last real weekend?
Recycle Bin (empty)
We used to save everything and go nowhere. One day we emptied the bin and started actually going.
That is the whole reason this site exists.
Your next great weekend starts here.
Restaurant recommendations, recipes, Arizona finds, travel ideas, and experiences worth putting on the calendar. Zero junk mail, unless you count the occasional popcorn opinion.
π¬ You have got mail. Well, soon.
You are on The Weekend List. First issue arrives before your next "what should we do this weekend" conversation.
This wizard will help you install a partnership with Hang With the Wangs.
We partner with restaurants, destinations, hotels, entertainment venues, and experience-driven brands to create content people can picture themselves enjoying. A restaurant becomes a complete date-night plan. A hotel becomes a weekend itinerary. An attraction becomes a guide that removes uncertainty and builds excitement.

Floating or paddleboarding the Salt River is one of the best casual adventures in Arizona. Anyone can technically show up. Doing it right is what turns it into a favorite memory instead of a sunburned cautionary tale.
Desert canyon views, water that feels illegal in July, and a decent chance of drifting past horses on the bank. It is the rare outing that works for couples, friend groups, and visiting family all at once.
Buy your Tonto Pass before you drive out, go early on weekends, and check release flows. Cell service gets patchy, so screenshot everything.
No water shoes, no dry bag, no sunscreen plan, and a phone in a pocket that is about to go swimming.
Water shoes, a cheap dry bag, a floating strap for the phone, and frozen water bottles that become cold drinks by hour two. Launch upstream at Water Users and leave a second car downstream at Phon D. Only bringing one car? Book the Saguaro Ranch Shuttle: park at Phon D, let the shuttle run you up to the launch, and float right back to your car. Thank us later.
Water Users to Phon D is about three hours of paddling, so plan on a half day once you add setup and snacks. Pass plus gear runs less than a nice dinner for two.
β Every weekend.
The crunchy, garlicky, chili-kissed salad that made the internet stop scrolling for a second. Ours skips the gimmicks and keeps the flavor.
Richard's restaurant tip: salting and draining is the whole game. Skip it and you get soup.
Lauryn's hosting tip: serve it in a shallow bowl with big spoons and it disappears before the main course lands.
